Before you begin
These games work best when everyone feels safe enough to be honest. A few ground rules make that possible.

Before you begin
No judgement — full stop
Whatever is shared in this game stays in this game. Nothing said here becomes ammunition later. Not tonight, not next week, not in a future argument. Agree to this before you draw a single square.
Listen to understand, not to respond
When someone speaks — actually listen. Not to prepare your counter. Not to defend yourself. To hear what they're saying. The most important thing any of you can do in this game is be genuinely present for each other.
No arguing back in the moment
If someone names you, votes for you, or says something that lands uncomfortably — take a breath before responding. You will get your turn. The game is designed for it. Defending yourself immediately usually closes the door rather than opening it.
You may always pass
No one is obliged to share anything they are not ready to share. Saying "I'll pass on that one" is a complete and valid answer. The game is meant to open doors — not to force anyone through them.
Hold this lightly — and seriously
This is a game. It should be fun. It should make you laugh. And it may surprise you with something real. Both things can be true at once. Honour the laughter and the honesty in equal measure.
We have read the House Rules and agree to hold this space with care.
