To be truly witnessed — without response, advice, or interruption — is one of the rarest things two people can offer each other.

One person will speak. The other will only witness — no response, no advice, no own story. Then you swap. You will close by giving each other a single gift: what you see in them that they may not see in themselves.

Before you begin

The rules of the mirror

This rite has one sacred rule. When the other person speaks, you are the mirror — not a voice. A mirror does not advise. It does not compare. It does not share its own reflection. It simply receives.

The witness stays silent while the speaker speaks No advice. No "I felt that too." No questions. Hold eye contact if you are in the same space The witness may only nod — never speak

Each round is five minutes. A soft chime will signal when time is up. You will then swap. The rite closes with a final act of naming.
