About the author
Mariyah D. Acka'a has Nigerian and European heritage, was raised in New York, and is based in the United Kingdom. She holds an MBA and is a Senior Manager at a global technology company. She is Managing Director of Viewpoint Nigeria Ltd and founder of the Acka'a-Hitchman Foundation (Makurdi, Nigeria).
She writes from a perspective that is rarely centred in mainstream self-help: multicultural and diasporic experience, navigating inherited scripts across cultural and generational lines, and the specific challenge of building a life that is yours when so many people have opinions about what it should look like.
